6 KEY WEDDING TREND PREDICTIONS FOR 2021, FROM TRINIDADWEDDINGS.COM
When we predicted that micro weddings would be the hot trend for 2019, never in our wildest dreams would we have thought it would be because of a global pandemic! 2019 was full of so many changes for weddings but the best change we think, was that couples were able to focus more on who and what was meaningful to them.
Here are some of our predictions for 2021:
“Modern Vintage theme” – This wedding theme combines modern elements alongside antique ones such as: mercury glass, fine china-inspired designs, vintage furniture (think suede and velvet) and heirloom pieces.
More sustainable weddings – “eco-friendly” and “locally-sourced.” will be the two mottos for many couples planning 2021 weddings and they will seek to use more re-usable signage, local flowers and natural elements, like bamboo and raffia.
Catering – In keeping with new Covid safety guidelines, there will be more single-serve food items at weddings and more “plated service” (instead of buffet service). Mini charcuterie boards (featuring an assortment of cheeses, cold cuts, nuts, fruits and crackers) per single guest or per table, will be a popular option.
Colours – Pantone’s colours for 2021 are grey and bright yellow. However, some other popular colours are going to be: rosy-brown (also called cinnamon rose), sage green, burgundy, coral, peach and muted neutrals such as beige, cream and mocha.
Décor – This year, neon light elements will be on trend and string lights and clear acrylic furniture and décor will continue to be popular. Couples will also be using more dried flowers and foliage in their wedding décor.
Gowns – 2021 will be the year of the “statement sleeve” – from Victorian-inspired blouson sleeves, to “boho-chic” bell sleeves or dainty puff sleeves. Corset bodices and one-shoulder gowns will also be on trend. In terms of necklines – the halter style and high necklines will be two of the more popular cuts. Ruffles and bow details are also making a comeback and will be seen on many 2021 gowns. In the slideshow in order of appearance are:
