Decor on a Budget
Use balloons – Although many couples may dislike the idea of using balloons, the truth is that you do get the most “bank for your buck” with them. They are relatively low cost and once done tastefully and in sufficient quantities, balloon décor can have enormous colour impact. Think about having a “balloon ceiling” with balloons filled with helium. It’s a low-cost option that is guaranteed to leave your guests in awe!
Lovely Linens – If you want to make a great impression, one way to do it is by using your linens – coloured napkins ( ask your decorator to create unusual napkin folds!), chiffon or organza table overlays, colourful or beaded table runners, chair covers or chair backs. It is always a good idea to get the best quality linens you can find. This is one area of décor that is often overlooked but surprisingly it is the one element that guests are closest in contact with!
Focus on strategic areas – Use most of your décor budget in areas where the photographer and videographer will focus the most on, such as the stage, the cake table, the reception area, individual tables and the dance floor.
Adding in at least one special effect or décor surprise such as fireworks, water features, special effects, a balloon drop, a balloon release, ice sculptures, tasteful costumed characters that will complement your theme.
